Beachwood

So, Byron, Sidney and I just came back yesterday from hanging out at Beachwood, by Birch Bay by Blaine, Washington for those of you who don't know where it is. We rented a mobile home which was in need of an update, but because of that we paid half-price for the cabin instead which was awsome!

We arrived there late on Thursday night. On Friday it rained quite a bit, so we didn't do a whole lot. I think we went for a walk! It was so nice! Byron and I read our books, and Sidney played. She figured out how to climb onto lower objects now too, so time to look for things like that in our house! On Saturday, the weather was BEAUTIFUL and we went for a walk along the ocean for a bit. We did some more reading while Sidney napped. So, it was pretty well doing a whole lot of nothing. Which was what we went there for! Just some time to spend as a family. Saturday night we bought some firewood and had a small fire for a bit, just so that we could say we had a fire!

Both evenings, Friday and Saturday we went swimming after supper. On the Friday night we had the pool and hot tub to ourselves. Sidney is really starting to love the water even more. On Saturday night there were quite a few people in the pool (yes, it's covered by an inflatable bubble at this time of year!) and it was quite noisy. Sidney felt she had to chip in and she was just as noisy! She has started kicking her legs in the water and splashes like no tomorrow! She has splashed in the bathtub for a while, but she went nuts in the pool! It's such a joy to see our little girl growing up these days! In another week, she'll be 11 months old! Wow! Where has time gone?? Time to start thinking of a birthday party! Just a small one with a FEW mom's and their babes. My house isn't big enough for too many people! Let alone babies crawling and walking and making a HUGE mess!

Well, now back to life at home. The weather this morning was NASTY as the rain was POURING! The sun is out now and the rain has stopped, but I hear the wind outside. Ahh, the life of living in the Fraser Valley! Love it and wouldn't want to move out just yet! Well, hope you're all keeping well!

  1. Looks like you had a great getaway!! Your pix by the water make me want to hop on a plane & visit NOW! Oh well... we'll have to wait a bit longer.

  2. That's where you went! Now I recall Mom saying you were going. Glad you had a good time. Nice that Byron likes to read so you can both have quiet time together. Sidney sure is growing up. Can't wait to see you all again... 2 months! That seems so far away from now. Miss you like crazy. Nice you could wear sweaters at the beach and not have to be all bundled up. It's cold up here today. Wet snow that just ices the bones. The mountains have snow on there today too... I'm sure Silverstar is LOVING this! I'm still cold and bundled under a blanket trying to warm up... nothing's doing the trick except the bath is tempting me. Would love to catch up on the phone. Gone tomorrow. We'll connect. What's your schedule?
