This past Saturday we ended up not going into Langley, so thinking that it would be a bum day as Byron was a bit under the weather, and Sidney had a bit of a cold, or so I thought, Byron came up with the idea of heading out for a drive. He heard that there were some decent campsites around Silver Lake Road. An exit heading from Chilliwack towards Hope, just before. We left around 11:30 or so, and returned home around 6. It was a great day and the weather was beautiful! We headed to Silver Lake which is a small lake for fishing we assume? Then we continued up the road that was washboard and gravel with made for a very slippery drive! I got scared as we were fishtaleing and we were only going about 40km/h. We crashed the truck almost 2 years ago in the snow by fishtaleing, so that's why I was nervous, especially with Sidney between us and Pete in the back of the truck. We made it safely to the end and came upon this georgeous lake called Ross Lake. It was partly in Canada and the USA. In the upper left picture you can see the line in the tree's that was the border. We didn't get a picture of the same on the far side of the lake, but it was so beautiful there that pictures don't do any justice! The downside of being there were the mosquitos! They're gone from our home area, but seeing we were in the mountains and in the 'forest', they were abundant! They didn't bother us until we were ready to leave, and they they just ate us! Sidney didn't get any bites, thank goodness, but boy was I itchy that day and Sunday. Grr, go away mosquitos!
Just some snapshots of us around the lake. Sidney LOVES the water now, so we ended up putting her in the water. It was so nice and refreshing, that we wish we had brought swimsuits! She loved the water so much that all she did was splash! And of course, holding her in the water, who got wet too? I'm not compaining at all. Honestly! It was tons of fun! Very relaxing overall, minus the fishtaleing, but that is forgotten once you head to the lake! We did drive to the US side too. There is no border station or anything. Just a sign that says you're in the states. I just thought that I should have gotten a picture of something like that! Silly me! If any of you are looking for a day trip and are in the area, go check it out! It's a must see!
