It's after 10 pm and I don't really have the utmost motivation to type, but when I don't feel like it, is when I write the most. I'm stitting here eating some chips and salsa. Yummy! I know, I'm not supposed to, but it's a treat to myself. I didn't have desert tonight...if that counts :)
This is what my little stinker has been up to lately. Pulling herself up on EVERYTHING, and once she starts, she can't stop! It can be frustrating for both of us as she can get up, but not down without doing a faceplant or smoking her head on the hardwood floor. Oops! We feel awfull when that happens as she has a certain cry she does when she gets hurt and it breaks our hearts! We count the seconds until the next breath. Sometimes it can go on, and we're saying outloud to her "breathe!" We know she'll figure it out someday too! She tries to put her hand down on the ground to get down, but I'm trying to work with her to land on her bum. She'll get it! When?...
Just some cute pix of Sidney around the house. I LOVE the picture of her and Pete as they're both looking at Byron at the back of the yard. I really hope they're buddies next summer! He is getting much more comfortable with her, but until she starts throwing the kong for him, then he'll love her! Oh Wilma, the yellow dress she's wearing on the lower right is the picture I was supposed to email you about um, 2 weeks ago? Oops again! It was so adorable! She got that dress from a lady at the church shower in January. This is what my little stinker has been up to lately. Pulling herself up on EVERYTHING, and once she starts, she can't stop! Our poor Petey! No, his leg is not broken. On Monday, Byron took him for a ride in the truck to borrow an alluminum ladder for painting. We don't know if this is what caused it, but Byron says he got Pete to jump out of the back of the truck with the tailgate up. After Byron got home, I noticed Pete licking his paw. I noticed a crack in the pad of his foot. Then I threw the kong for him, and he was limping. Hmm. I looked again and the flap of pad had ripped off. Byron threw the kong, not knowing it was exposed, so when Pete came back from retrieving the kong, his paw was bleeding a bit. I realized that he was due for his shots, so yesterday (this happened on Monday) I took him to the vet. Why waste $50 on a visit when you can get it all done in 1?! So, the vet says we need to cover it for about 3 weeks for the pad to heal over. It's a sensitive area and can get easily infected. We have to give him antibiotics for 10 days. Ahh!! So, he's actually doing great having a bandaid on! He doesn't chew it (that we know of) but he did have it fall off him today running up and down the fence, as he knows he's not supposed to do! So, I put another one on, and the vet suggested a boys sock to put overtop so it protects the bandaid a bit more. So, I bought socks today and I have one on. It's already a bit worn from him, again, probably running the fence. He's dumb! He walks around the yard with a limp, but has no problem running along the fence. We never knew he was smart, that's forsure. But he's a sweetie, a suck (as Byron hates me saying) and a awsome dog overall. It's funny though. Having a dog really motivates us to walk, but now that he has a bum foot, it sure takes the motivation out of doing exercise! But we just have to keep it up!
