Lately

Life has been good here this week. I didn't go out a whole lot. A gas tank on our van has lasted us 2 weeks so far! Yeah! I had Jodee's 6 (was 7 weeks though) week visit which was also her last visit at the midwife. She is going great and weighed in at 11lbs 5oz. I'm sad to not be under midwife care, but life goes on; until next time :) We went to a birthday party on Thursday at a park across from our church for a little girl who just turned 2 and will be in Sidney's class. We had fun just hanging out and playing. Sidney just does her own thing and watches the other kids while on her own. She REALLY liked to snack on the food that was on the table that I had to put a stop to. Of course the M&M's were right in front of her! What a stinker! Friday we all headed to Byron's parents as he helped his dad finish cleaning out the barns while I ran errands in the morning with the girls and hung out for the afternoon. We had a great day there! Saturday we stayed at home; Byron worked an overtime night shift so I was home with the girls. We had a church picnic organized for last evening, but Sidney started a cold yesterday so I decided not to go, even after making a dessert to take along! Oh well, Byron and I have been eating it today :) Mmm, Vanilla Squares to my family! I got a call at 9pm reminding me that we were host family today, so I had thank goodness cleaned the house yesterday, but I didn't have anything prepared for having people over. I made a pot of soup and a boxed cake late last night. I stayed home this morning so Sidney didn't have to be in the nursery all snotty nosed, so Byron went to church and didn't end up inviting anyone, so, so much for making stuff last night! No, we have been enjoying the soup and had some cake today, so that was good. We're just chilling out tonight as Byron has to work tomorrow and I'm staying home. Sorry if I'm rambling! This afternoon I had both girls dressed up for church (even though neither one went) so I decided to take some pictures of them and us. Here is the end result!

Look! The tail end of a smile on Jodee! Proof that she's really doing it! Also, she's getting nice and strong and can hold herself up too. On the ground not as well, but against us, she can hold herself really good for a bit!

Look! Look! Her hair fits in pig tails in the back! I did pin the front to the side, but we thought she looked really girlie and ADORABLE today! Oh how I love having girls!

Oh, here are pictures of Sidney "helping" me the other day preparing dinner by putting the carrots in the bowl. She grabbed the bowl on her own and decided to put them in, even though I was going to steam them, but I let her have her fun!

  1. LOOOOOVE the pix!! Your friend did a great job with the photos!! Love the latest photos of S&J. They are so cute! Jodee is very much her mama's side of the family- wow!! Must be those eyes. Oh, love the cross-eye look, too, but that should pass soon. Thanks for the great update!
