August 1st, we headed up with my family to Penticton to float down the river there. We were lucky enought to do it early in the morning b/c the afternoon was CRAZY!!! Thanks to my sister Christina for taking these shots! Considering it took about 3 hours for us to float down the river, Sidney did amazing! She did have a nap on me, as you can tell. I did use the umbrella to cover her up quite a bit as the temperature out there that day was about 36-38 degrees. It definately didn't feel like that on the water! Oh, the upper left picture is of all 12 grandkids from my side, minus the 2 that are still warm in their momma's tummies!
That was on the Saturday, so on the Sunday, Byron, Sidney and myself headed up to Enderby with my sister Esther and her hubby Tai and their kids and floated down another river. It only took about 1/2 hour, but it was great! We hung out in the shallow water at the exit of it for another 30-45 minutes just splashing around and having fun. Would totally do both river's again!
This past week was a mellow week. With the nasty heat wave that we had, and a busy weekend on July 26 for mom Bredenhof's birthday party, I decided to spend a whole week at home, relaxing. It was well worth it and I could really do another one, but I have to be social too once in a while! Last Thursday my sister Christina came over and unloaded her kids toys off to Sidney seeing she's moving and her kids are too big for it now! Sidney LOVED it in the car! She would scoot her bum to the edge of the seat so that her feet were on the ground and pushed herself backwards. It was so cute! She was gripping that steering wheel so tight!! The lower right picture is of all the goodies that Sidney got! Byron's not to keen on getting this stuff as our storage space is filling up, but you wait until next summer when she'll be running around with friends, having tea parties, etc. I know, we'll see if I have a tom-boy or girlie-girl!
Christina was taking pictures, and captured these pictures of my sunflowers. 2 of the vines are about 10 fee tall and the flower hasn't bloomed yet! Yikes! Didn't really expect them to get THAT tall, but oh well! I love them! This is my 2nd year having them and I love that it brightens my yard!
