One day we headed off to the park for some play time. The girls had a riot! Top right is Abigail, lower right is Kyra, and the lower left is Sasha. It's amazing how much a small park can easily entertain a couple of girls!
The other baby in these pictures is baby Tori. She was 8? weeks old at the time of these pictures. A very cute baby too! Sidney thought that it was great having another baby to poke at. I remember when she was little and other babies would do the same thing to her, but now I have to watch her carefully so she doesn't hurt anyone.
On the Saturday, we headed off to Fort Edmonton. It was very interesting! We would recommend it to anyone who heads that way who hasn't gone there before. We first went on a 5 minute steam train ride and headed off to the Fort part. Fort Edmonton is seperated into 4 era's. I don't remember the years, but the first is the Fort, based in the late 1890's. The it moves on to 1905?, then 1914? and then the 1920 or 30's. It's really great seeing the changes that a few years can make on settlements and housing, etc. The staff were dressed per their era and acted the part too. You couldn't have a 'normal' conversation with them as they would pretend 'they sold their oxen so that is why their wagon is parked on the side of the road'. R+R's girls really are into Little House on the Prarie, so they thought it was really interesting. We got to one house in the early 1900's and some lady was baking in the house. She acted that she was all alone as her husband had gone out for the day with the children. Abigail asked "Pa went away with Mary and Laura?" so the lady said yes. Abigail looked around and noticed a doll in a rocking chair and went on to ask "is that Laura's doll?" The lady looked really confused and had no idea what to say. Abigail asked "Is baby Carrie here too?" The lady again looked confused and said that the kids were all out for the day. We quickly cut in and told Abigail that Pa had taken her along too. Abigail looked content at this answer. When we were leaving I told the lady that she was referring to Little House on the Prarie, but she still didn't look too confident about it. What little girl didn't read these stories as a little girl?
On the Sunday that we were in Edmonton, we headed off to my cousin Nelena and Mark's place and stayed for dinner. From the pictures on the upper left, middle left and centre, the pictures are of Sidney and their daughter Kalla. They're just 1 month apart, and Sidney definately outweighed Kalla! The picture of Sidney on the right middle was taken of her at the park that was mentioned above. It was her first time in the sand and loved it! She kept picking up sand and letting it fall through her fingers. The sand was really soft too which was nice. Yes, even having her sit in it for a bit, I did find sand in her diaper, not from eating it though. Oh, the picture on the upper right was the first time she was in a jolly jumper and actually jumped! She's at Auntie Wilma's place and tried her jolly jumper. She loved it! I haven't put her in the jumper too much at home as she doesn't like to be left alone in it yet. I'll have to try another time when she just wakes up from a nap and she's happy!
Well, that shows some of our trip. We had an awsome time and look forward to visting family again another time. Thanks R+R and C+W for a great time!
