It's been almost 2 weeks since my last update and seeing I like reading other family blogs all the time, I figure I should update mine for you to read! Life has been pretty low key lately. A week ago right before we went to bed, Byron was goofing off with Sidney and was able to get her to giggle!! I tried twice on Sunday to update my blog with a video of the tail end of it but it wasn't working. I'll have to post the clip on YouTube and send you all a link to it. It was cute!! Since then she hasn't done it, but she did it!! Sidney these days is nothing but smiles!! Mornings are the best time because she'll kick her legs when you talk to her and she's started to use her lungs and squeals!! We squeal right back and she loves it and smiles, whole mouth and all!! When she does it I think about taking a picture or video of it, but she's a true Bredenhof that when the camera is around, she clams up. Silly girl!! Byron's proud of her for that! She can definately be sensitive too. When she's tired, she sure can cry! I can have her on my shoulder and she'll calm down, but if I even talk to her or kiss her on the cheek, she'll cry or whine. My my, do I ever look forward to the teenage years!!! She's just getting over having a second cold too. The thing that isn't so fun lately is the fact that she's just not sleeping though the night!! Grrr! I don't mind if she goes down before 9 and wakes up in the night b/c then I have a few hours to myself, but like last night, she didn't want to go down and FINALLY did around 10:30/11, but alas, woke up to feed around 5. We were up together for 10 minutes or so b/c she fell back asleep while feeding, but I hope it will end soon! I know with formula fed kids you can water down their formula until it's water and they become uninterested, but nursing babies?? I can't really water that down and she doesn't just want cuddles. She definately knows what she wants! I'll admit that's from me. She's starting to move her hands around a bit more. She discovered looking at her toes when I change her. She doesn't grab for them yet, but soon enough! She doesn't really grab for anything yet either. Byron just has one more night shift to work this week and then he's on day shifts for the next 2 weeks. Work has been slow in the fact that they don't call him in for overtime shifts anymore. They've added an extra driver for nights so they don't need drivers for that which is unfortunate. He really enjoys his job and getting called in for extra shifts, but he also enjoys hanging out with 'his girls'. Sidney's diaper bag has been breaking on the inside, the plastic is ripping. I got the diaper bag for free, but I decided that I was going to tackle sewing a new diaper bag for her. It's 14.5 inches across and 14 inches high, not measuring the straps, which were cut also to be 14 inches. I found a pattern online that I had to freehand draw the pattern but it gave measurements and instructions. Alas, I whipped up this really cute bag, as you can see from the pictures. I'm proud of myself and feel good about the fact that I did it all by myself! Yes, I sound like a little girl, but I've only ever sewed with my mom or in high school, or something very simple like a nursing cover. I'm not an expert sewer, but you have to start somewhere!! I'm going to sign off and hang out with my hubby. Wish it was sunny today, but the grass has to start turning green again, so alas, the rain. Below is the link for Sidney's U-Tube video of her giggling. She was going crazy before I started to video, but I caught some of it!! Enjoy and hope you're all doing well. Oh, by the way, the pictures of Sidney in the Bumbo was taken this morning, so your most updated picture of her!
The video is hilarious! Love the giggles!
ReplyDeleteNice bag you made!! Love the colours, too!! I'm thinking of browns/blues/greens/orange-reds for my baby colours:)
How did you make the label on the side of the bag with her name on it?
Sidney sure is getting her personality... love the bumbo pic with her laughing! Total cracker! She sure is cute, but scary how Bredenhof she looks:) (hehe) Oh well, #2 will look just like you:)
Thank you for the update. I miss you girls like crazy and hope that you are still stopping by on Monday. Enjoy your weekend.
