Finally I have time to post a little bit about the shower that was on Wednesday night for Sidney at the church. There were about 20 ladies that made it out and it was about an hour long. We played a few games, and from pictures, a game was to pass a soother from one person to another via a straw in our mouth's. The whole evening was lots of fun and great to get together with the ladies and get to know them a bit better. Sidney sure got spoiled that she definitely won't need too many clothes for a while!! I do still love buying her cute clothes though!! She is still sleeping through the night for me, but that involves a number of feeds in the evening to fill her up! She doesn't usually go down for her final sleep of the day until between 10:30 and 12:30 so I don't get to go to bed early anymore, but if I get a good stretch I can't complain.
Here are some "motherly words of advise" that were written out for me at the shower:
Enjoy it when they cuddle with you cause they grow out of that stage fast!
Cornstarch is just as good to use as baby powder. It is cheaper and has no perfume to hurt baby's skin.
Take advantage of every stage because every stage has something special.
Food fixes everything; cookies, candies, etc...
Be consistent!!
Spend one on one time with your daughter as she grows, especially in those lovely teenage years!
Cherish the good days and trudge through the bad. They are short lived!
Remember to still go on kidless! dates with your hubby.
Go for walks outside everyday! Sometimes with baby sometimes without!
Give Sidney lots of love and tell her about the love of Jesus!
Always be patient even if you have to get up 13 times a night. You can't disapline for something the kid doesn't know.
Patience is a virtue. Count to ten then laugh!
Nap when baby is napping.
Give lots of cuddles!
Take time for long bubble tubs for yourself.
Treasure these moments! It goes so fast. Love her. Hold her. Tell her all about God. (Thanks Christina!!!!!)
My favourite one...
Don't listen to anybody!!

I tried posting a comment on here yesterday and my laptop wasn't too cooperative... so hopefully better luck this time round...
ReplyDeleteI am so amazed at all the clothes you got for Sidney's shower! That doll is so cute!
Great idea to have words of advise...you probably will need to reflect upon those ones every once in a while over the next 20 or so years:)
I know for certain you'll heed that advice - Don't listen to anyone! You're the mom and moms know best! Thanks for the update.
