Update

Well, where do we start? Now that I'm up and typing again, I don't know what to write! Today we were able to get some work done around the house. Byron pruned a tree, weed-whacked, I cut the grass with Sidney, I weeded the gardens. The weather was overcast and seemed like it was going to rain, but it held out and still has! I have a carrier that I was using for a "seatbelt" for Sidney so that when we cut the grass, she was secured to us, but today I quickly put together a modified carrier with more shape for Sidney's comfort so that worked out great for me! She just loves to ride on the lawn mower. I put earmuffs on her and she leaves them on for the most part. I do enjoy having her "chatting" for most of the job which keeps me nicely entertained. Here are pictures of Sidney and I today.

The weather has been nice as of lately. The hightest we've seen it was 22 degrees. Which is really nice so that we could go outside to enjoy it! Sidney has been allowed to play in my empty garden for now. She really needs to get a sandbox made for her by her daddy, but that involves time that he doesn't have right now.

Byron has been busy these days. When he's not at his regular job, he tries to get hours in at Heppells, the potatoe farm. He's really enjoyed that, being in the field and driving tractors again. When he's not doing that, we call up my parents and see if they need help around the place seeing Dad can't really do too much these days, so yesterday he leveled out an area by my parents newly poured patio which kept him busy all afternoon.
I've been busy too for the most part. Baby is growing nicely and is pretty active, especially at night when I'm lying in bed. I just love feeling him/her move around and stretch. For the last 4 Tuesdays I've been working in a newer greenhouse with a friend of mine and we take our girls who run around the whole time. Not always behaving or happy, but for the most part it works! We've been busy transplanting strawberries into bigger pots and pruning existing plants. It's been enjoyable, but by the end of the day I'm ready to be home. We have dine and dash tomorrow night and we host for appetizers, so hopefully it goes well considering one person is gluten free and other person is tomato/pork/dairy/seasoning free, so I've come up with a few idea's to cater to everyone. Last week I headed the hair/makeup department for a play that was put on by the youth (grades 3-9) in our schools called "The Elves and the Shoemaker". It was fun, but the days leading up to it were pretty stressfull. I didn't get any pictures of the event, but not a biggie. I had some help in getting the characters all made up, but it went well and is DONE! Yippee! Now I get to enjoy some Timmies because of it :)
Sidney has been a ball of energy these days. Her big thing to say to us is "NO". Sigh, the joys of a growing toddler. She hasn't wanted to eat much for dinner, or any at all these days, but if you give her cookies, she'll eat that! But, too bad for her she doesn't always get what she wants. I don't know if she's just not feeling good and this will soon pass, but so far it can't pass soon enough!!! We've taught her to "twinkle" her fingers for Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, so she twinkles her hands during the day to get us to sing to her which is so cute to see her little fingers twisting and curling! I'll have to try to get a video of it sometime. She also LOVES it when we read Old MacDonald Had a Farm. She knows exactly which book it is and knows which animals come next for us to sing. She just loves looking at picture books with animals. She has to find the cow and say "Cow" and "Moo". It's so much fun to see her growing up and chatting more! She really tries to repeat us when we get her to say words. Oh, her other new thing to do is turn in a circle until she falls down. Seems "Bee-bah" (Opa) and Oma taught her that, but they say they didn't do anything but spin her on a chair, but since staying there overnight last Friday, that's what she does once in a while! Oh, she also loves to stand on a chair by the counter and "help" my when I'm working in the kitchen. She fell the other day when she was sharing a chair with Byron, but hopefully she won't have too many spills! It'll hopefully teach her though, hopefully without any broken bones! She's into standing on anything she can right now and seeing how high she can climb. It gets quite frustrating telling her to get down all the time, or not to stand on ______, but I know it's a stage of testing her limits and mine, so hopefully this too will soon pass. See, there's so much I can write about her seeing she's going through so much right now in her life, mine and Byron's seems boring in comparison!
Well, I am going to go and make Byron's lunch and we'll head off to bed as Byron goes back to work tomorrow, has Sunday off, then back to work Monday to Thursday next week, so he won't get to enjoy a day off until next week Friday, but such is life! Hope you're all in good health and we'll catch up another time!

  1. did you find your camera or did you have to buy a new one? Love how big Sidney is. Can't wait to see her in 2 weeks. She's grown so much since Christmas and from the sounds of it is so much more active. Such a toddler. Brings back so many memories. Thanks for updating!
