This was Sidney the other day. I was on the computer and really wanted her to sleep so in the swing she went. Notice the red mark on her cheek as the result of flopping over?? I did put her in bed pretty quick after I took the picture.
On May 21 the 4 of us hiked up Teapot Hill out by Cultus Lake. Sidney did great on the way up but because we took her out of the back-carrier at the top, she whined/cried the whole way down whenever she saw me. She did fall asleep the last few minutes, so that would explain why she was cranky! The hike took about 40 minutes to hike up. It is great hiking with Byron and Pete! Byron was carrying Sidney so he was slowed down a bit because of that so he matched my pace perfectly. We only stopped twice the whole time, the first time for Byron (he he, not me!!) and then the second time for me because it was a bit of a steeper section. Pete does really well off leash, but when people come, we call him over to be tied up or held. We like the fact that he does really well so that we can take him all the time! Great motivater to get out there, that's forsure!
May 9th or so, we hiked up to Bridal Veil Falls. It was only a 10 minute hike to the falls, which we were dissapointed about. We knew it wasn't long, but once we started walking, we wanted to walk for longer! C'es la vie, we've planned to go for more hikes this summer to make up for it! No, we really enjoyed it, and being so close to the mountains you just can't not go! We also want Sidney to appreciate the outdoors too when she grows up.
These were taken on the night of my 25th birthday! I'm half-way to 50 now! Seems wierd to say it like that. I had a great birthday. Byron had a busy week at work so he didn't get me anything, which is OK b/c we tend to not make a deal out of birthdays. We headed to my parents for dinner and met my sister Esther and her kids there, as well as we had my cousin Cheyenne there too. It was beautiful weather and nice and warm. Sorry, no pictures of me and Sidney that day. She was already in bed at the time we took the pictures. I bought myself a CD yesterday to make up for no birthday present as that was what Byron was going to get me anyways. I bought 'Natasha Beddingfield' and 'City and Colour' CD's. They're really good. I like them. Byron really wanted the 'City and Colour' CD, so I bought that for him, but I should say it's 'ours'.
